Best Sprockets For Motorcycles

When it comes to choosing the best motorcycle sprocket, both performance car players and off-road veterans must put the perfect balance of tensile strength, weight loss effect and ultimate wear resistance first. Grasp The Perfect Balance

Material Debate: Aluminum Alloy Vs. High Carbon Steel

The material is absolutely the top priority in choosing the life and performance of the sprocket. It all depends on where and how you usually ride:

  • CNC-cut lightweight aluminum alloy: This is exclusive for pure track days and professional competitions. The unsprung mass is the enemy of performance. Replacing it with a CNC aluminum alloy rear sprocket can cut off the vital weight, making the suspension reaction faster and the wheel speed more rapid. It’s a performance ceiling, it sacrifices some long-term durability compared to steel.
  • High-frequency quenching of high-carbon steel: If you spend your days driving your car into mud puddles, sand, or blasting the accelerator on the street, there is no choice. It is honest and practical steel. High-frequency quenched high-carbon steel sprockets have the longest life and can withstand extreme friction of several thousand kilometers. It’s a bit heavy in the hand, but for everyday mobility and endurance racers, the sense of grounding it provides is irreplaceable.
