Heavy Duty Motorcycle Chain High Performance & Durable

Designed for high-load motorcycles, it is made of 40Mn high-carbon alloy steel and 2.4mm thickened outer chain plate, with tensile strength exceeding ANSI standard by more than 30%. The core is equipped with Solid Bushing technology and four-sided riveting process, which prolongs the wear-resistant life by 2 times and effectively eliminates the risk of chain breakage. It is an ideal choice for heavy locomotives and long-distance transportation, and accepts large orders.

Heavy Duty Motorcycle Chain

Compared with the traditional rolled sleeve, the roundness tolerance of the seamless solid sleeve manufactured by cold forging process is controlled within 0.01mm. This increases the oil retention by 50%, reduces the chain elongation caused by friction by 65%, and prolongs the service life by 1.5 to 2 times.

The chain plate and pin shaft are made of high quality 40Mn alloy steel, after isothermal quenching heat treatment, the hardness reaches HRC 40-50. This material combination ensures excellent toughness under high impact loads, and the fracture resistance is 40% higher than that of ordinary A3 steel chains.

Specially built for Heavy Duty standard, the thickness of the outer chain plate is increased from the standard 2.0mm to 2.4mm (take 530H as an example). This structural enhancement design directly increases the impact fatigue strength by 25%, perfectly adapting to bad road conditions such as mud and climbing.

All chain plates and rollers are subjected to high-intensity shot peening to form a high-pressure residual stress layer on the metal surface. This 1 process effectively offsets the alternating tensile stress in riding, improves the fatigue fracture resistance by 3 times, and ensures that it is still stable at a high speed of 8000rpm.

Using advanced four-point riveting technology, the radial expansion force of the riveting head is greater. Compared with the traditional two-point riveting, the push-out force of the pin shaft is increased by more than 350kgf, which completely prevents the chain from being out of stock when the chain swings violently sideways.

Before leaving the factory, each chain has undergone thousands of pre-stretching operations with a load of 30% of the ultimate breaking force. This 1 process eliminates the initial “false extension” of the chain, and the user hardly needs to adjust the chain for the first 500 kilometers after installation.

Ordinary motorcycle chains on the market mostly use rolled bushings, which are easy to deform into barrels at the seams under heavy loads, resulting in reduced contact area and increased wear. Our Heavy Duty chain is equipped with cold-forged solid shaft sleeves as standard. The perfect cylindrical structure ensures 100% surface contact between the pin shaft and the shaft sleeve. This difference makes our products in the same 5000 kilometers test, the elongation is only 1/3 of the ordinary chain, which greatly reduces the maintenance frequency of end users. Ordinary chain often use recycled scrap steel or low carbon steel, the surface only do simple black treatment, easy to rust and brittle. We strictly select the national standard 40Mn structural steel, and the use of carbon-nitrogen co-penetration heat treatment process. This not only imparts extremely high hardness to the surface of the chain to resist sand and gravel wear, but also maintains the strong toughness of the core. Compared with similar competitors, our chain shows 20% higher energy absorption capacity in impact load test, which is really “hard but not brittle”.

Heavy Duty Motorcycle Chain Comparison Point

The trouble of frequently adjusting the chain is solved

through pre-stretching and solid shaft sleeve technology, the pain point that ordinary chains need to tighten the chain every 300 kilometers is solved, and the adjustment period is extended to more than 1000 kilometers.

The hidden danger of heavy-duty climbing and easy-to-break chain is solved

for load king and off-road vehicles, the 2.4mm thick chain plate solves the risk of chain being broken at high torque output moments (such as starting and climbing).

It solves the problem of rust sticking in harsh environment

high adhesion factory pre-grease is matched with precision clearance, and the problem of chain link rusting, rigidity and abnormal noise after use in rain or muddy environment is solved.

Off-road and Rally Motorcyclist

For cyclists who often travel on muddy, sandy and rugged mountain roads. The high tensile strength and impact resistance of the Heavy Duty chain can perfectly withstand the huge instantaneous pulling force when jumping off the ground, and the solid sleeve can effectively prevent rapid wear caused by sediment intrusion.

The long wear life brought by Solid Bushing technology means that there is no need to frequently find a repair shop to adjust the chain during the long journey. The extremely high reliability is the confidence guarantee for crossing the no man’s land.

The H-class chain can withstand the greatly increased torque output after modification, preventing chain jitter and power loss caused by excessive power, and ensuring that every horsepower is accurately transmitted to the rear wheels.

When installing, make sure that the opening direction of the chain joint (Master Link) is opposite to the direction of chain movement. Adjust the rear axle to keep the middle position of the lower chain with a vertical swing amplitude of 20mm – 30mm (Slack). If it is too tight, it will accelerate the wear, and if it is too loose, it will be easy to disconnect the chain.

It is recommended to clean every 500-800 kilometers. Please be sure to use kerosene or special chain cleaning agent with soft brush cleaning. It is forbidden to use gasoline, thinner or wire brush, which will damage the rubber sealing ring (if any) and damage the surface of the shaft sleeve.

After cleaning and drying, special chain wax or lubricating oil should be sprayed immediately. The nozzle should be aligned with the gap between the inner and outer link plates of the chain and between the roller and the shaft sleeve. After spraying, let stand for 15 minutes, and then ride after solvent volatilizes and grease adheres.

Regularly check the wear of the sprocket (crankset). If the sprocket teeth are pointed or hooked, the chain and sprocket must be replaced at the same time. The new chain with the old sprocket will shorten the life of the new chain by more than 70%.

Welcome to our Frequently Asked Questions page. We have compiled answers to common questions you may have, hoping to provide you with clear and quick solutions. If you cannot find the information you need here, please feel free to contact our customer support team.

What is the specific difference between the “Heavy Duty” chain and the ordinary chain here?
The most intuitive difference is the thickness of the chain plate. The inner and outer chain plates of Heavy Duty chain (such as 428H) are about 15%-20% thicker than ordinary standard chain (such as 428). This thickened design directly improves the tensile strength and impact resistance of the chain, making it more suitable for high load or bad road conditions.
Is your chain a solid shaft sleeve or a rolled shaft sleeve?
All our Heavy Duty series chains use solid bushings with cold forging process. Compared with the rolled shaft sleeve, the solid shaft sleeve has no seams, can better maintain the lubricating oil, and is not easy to deform under high pressure, and the wear life is usually more than 2 times that of the rolled shaft sleeve.
How many displacement motorcycles is this chain suitable?
It depends on the model. Usually 428H is suitable for 125cc-200cc motorcycles, 520H is suitable for 250cc-600cc, and 530H is designed for large-displacement locomotives or heavy-duty trucks above 600cc. Refer to the vehicle manual to select the matching pitch.
Is the tensile strength data true? Is there a test report?
The data is absolutely true and in line with industry standards. Our 530H chain has an average breaking force of more than 40kN (about 9000 pounds). Each batch of products will go through a tensile tester for destructive testing before leaving the factory. If necessary, we can provide a detailed material list and mechanical performance test report when purchasing in bulk.
Is this chain a O-ring (oil seal) chain?
This page mainly describes the enhanced Heavy Duty roller chain (non-oil seal). However, our “H” high-strength process is also used in our O-ring and X-ring series. If you need a longer maintenance-free cycle, you can consult our Heavy Duty oil seal chain series.
How to judge whether the chain is excessively worn and needs to be replaced?
In addition to observing whether the chain adjuster has reached the limit, you can try to use your hand back at the most part of the back tray.
